193 drones spotted heading toward Moscow, Russian regions

Russia's Defense Ministry claimed air defenses downed 193 Ukrainian drones over Moscow and more than 10 regions overnight, with one civilian killed and six injured amid building damage and airport closures.

Dozens of drones flew toward Moscow for hours.

According to the ministry, Russian air defenses intercepted and destroyed 193 drones overnight.

The most were downed over Bryansk Oblast — 47 drones. Another 42 over Kaluga Oblast, 40 over Moscow Oblast, 34 of which were heading for Moscow, as well as over Tula Oblast. The rest were shot down over the territories of Kursk, Oryol, Rostov, Voronezh, Orenburg, Tambov, Belgorod, Lipetsk and Samara oblasts.

Meanwhile, overnight, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported downing 35 UAVs heading for the Russian capital. He made no mention of damage.

As the Russian Telegram channel Astra noted, Russians reported explosions in various cities in Moscow Oblast, including the capital.

Later, smoke was spotted near the Kommunarka settlement, which is part of Moscow.

In the region, in Krasnogorsk, a residential building was damaged. According to Governor Andrei Vorobyov, a drone allegedly flew into a 14th-floor apartment. Five people were injured, including a child.

Additionally, flight takeoffs and landings were temporarily restricted at Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports.

Meanwhile, Bryansk Oblast Governor Alexander Bogomaz said kamikaze drones attacked a minibus with locals in the Pogar settlement. The driver was killed, and five passengers were injured.

In Kaluga Oblast, debris from downed UAVs damaged five buildings, regional governor Vladislav Shapsha reported.
