Ukraine's Defense Forces have destroyed 48% of the Pantsir anti-aircraft missile-gun systems used by Russian troops to down long-range Ukrainian drones since the start of 2025, Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) head Vasyl Maliuk told President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in a meeting broadcast by Suspilne

Ukrainian forces struck nearly 160 Russian oil extraction and refining sites this year, including 20 in September and October alone: six refineries, two oil terminals, three fuel depots and nine pumping stations.

"This led to a deficit of over 20% in the domestic fuel market, idling 37% of refining capacity, and shortages in 57 Russian regions, plus a ban on gasoline exports through year's end," Maliuk explained.

He stressed that Russian forces have "very strong air defenses," with the Pantsir performing best against Ukrainian long-range drones.

"From the start of 2025 to today, we've destroyed 48% of enemy Pantsirs. This is a priority set by Ukraine's president," the SBU chief noted.

Russians produce 30 Pantsir systems annually, but "the number destroyed far exceeds their production," he added.

During the meeting, Maliuk also revealed that Ukrainian forces destroyed one Russian Oreshnik missile on its territory last summer.
