Two missile strikes killed 35th Marine Brigade soldiers: details

Recently, Ukraine's 35th Separate Marine Brigade lost fighters in Russian missile strikes, according to an informed hromadske source.

One strike hit a ceremony where troops were being awarded. TSN news journalist Dmytro Sviatnenko, whose brother—soldier Volodymyr Sviatnenko (callsign "Znakhar")—reportedly died there from a ballistic missile.

"Russians killed him. Not on the battlefield. Deep in the rear. They gathered him with brothers-in-arms on the parade ground for awards. The best pilots and infantry of the brigade. By order. In the open. A ballistic missile hit. The story of negligence (or not) repeated," he said.

The second strike reportedly targeted a gas station, where brigade members in a bus heading to training were hit by an Iskander missile.

Besides Volodymyr Sviatnenko, press officer Kostiantyn Huzenko from the brigade is confirmed dead, though exact circumstances remain unclear.

The East troop grouping previously reported strikes in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast killed Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel and wounded others.

Authorities are investigating compliance with commander-in-chief and General Staff orders on timely missile alerts, bans on open-area gatherings or placements in unsuitable spots.
