Russian drone barrage of 121 targets Ukraine overnight, air defenses neutralize 90
Russian forces launched 121 drones at Ukrainian regions overnight into Wednesday, with air defenses neutralizing 90 of them but recording hits at 19 sites that killed a 47-year-old man in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast and sparked fires in Kharkiv, the Ukrainian Air Force command reported.
The aggressor fired strike drones of the Shahed type, Gerberas and drones of other types from Millerovo, Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as Chornomorske and Hvardiyske in temporarily occupied Crimea. About 70 of the launched drones were Shaheds.
The aerial assault was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups.
Preliminary data as of 9 a.m. shows air defenses shot down or suppressed 90 drones in the north, east, south and center of the country.
Hits from 31 strike drones were also recorded at 19 locations, along with debris falls from downed ones at one site.
In particular, Russians struck the Vasylkivka territorial community in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast with a drone, regional governor Vladyslav Hayvanenko reported. A 47-year-old man was killed there.
Drones also headed for Pavlohrad, where fires broke out, private enterprises and a car were damaged. Additionally, in the Nikopol district, the enemy used artillery and FPV drones.
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported a combat drone hit in the Kholodnohirskyi district. He provided no details but warned that another group of Russian drones was heading for the city.
