Russian drones target Ukraine overnight, killing 1 in Kharkiv Oblast
Russian forces launched 89 strike drones at Ukraine overnight into Monday, with air defenses downing 63 of them, the Ukrainian Air Force reported.
The drones — about 55 of them Shaheds, along with Gerbera and other types — were fired from Russia's Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from Cape Chauda in occupied Crimea.
Anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare teams, unmanned systems and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's Defense Forces repelled the assault.
As of 9 a.m., air defenses had neutralized 63 enemy drones over the north, south and east.
Hits from 26 drones were recorded at nine locations.
One person was killed and two wounded in Kharkiv Oblast, where drones struck residential buildings, the regional administration said.
