Drones attack Russia's Lipetsk Oblast: defense plant Energia apparently targeted

Drones apparently attacked a Russian defense factory, Energia, in Yelets, Lipetsk Oblast, on Sunday evening, January 4, according to regional governor Igor Artamonov.
He did not specify the drones' target, only saying a fire broke out in Yelets' industrial zone "after a UAV fell."
Meanwhile, OSINT channels wrote that the Energia defense plant in Yelets came under drone attack.
This is not the first drone strike on the plant. In July 2025, Ukraine's General Staff already reported hitting Energia.
According to the General Staff, the plant produces batteries and accumulators for UMPK munition guidance kits. This Russian development turns ordinary free-fall aerial bombs into gliding bombs with improved accuracy and range.
In addition, the enterprise makes batteries and accumulators for Iskander-M operational-tactical missile systems, Kh-35U sea-based cruise missiles and power modules for specialized complexes.
