Ukrainian commandos infiltrate enemy rear, capture two enemy soldiers as intel conducts special op on Zaporizhzhia front

Fighters from the Defense Intelligence’s Bratstvo unit carried out an operation on the Zaporizhzhia front, penetrating the enemy rear near the Kakhovka Reservoir, according to Ukrainian military intelligence.
The special operation took place in December 2025. A sabotage-reconnaissance group from the Bratstvo unit, part of the Timur Special Unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate, conducted a deep raid into enemy rear near the Kakhovka Reservoir.
During the combat mission, military intelligence personnel eliminated two Russian soldiers, wounded two others and captured two.
Afterward, Bratstvo fighters escorted the prisoners about 27 kilometers and extracted them to government-controlled territory.
In captivity, the Russians provided information on locations of Russian officers, artillery positions, UAV operators, troop and equipment clusters and ammunition depots.
"The operation confirmed serious gaps in the enemy's frontline defense system: the enemy does not expect active actions by Ukrainian intelligence in the depth of its positions and is unable to mount effective resistance in the rear," the military intelligence noted.
After the operation's completion, then-spy chief Lt. Gen. Kyrylo Budanov awarded Bratstvo fighters and commanders with state and departmental honors.
