Ukrainian forces hit infrastructure of Russia's Kapustin Yar test site with Flamingo missiles

Ukrainian Defense Forces struck infrastructure at Russia’s Kapustin Yar missile range in Astrakhan Oblast multiple times throughout January using long-range domestically produced weapons, including FP-5 Flamingo missiles, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

Ukrainian forces targeted a complex of hangar-type buildings at the Kapustin Yar test site, where pre-launch preparations for medium-range intercontinental ballistic missiles are conducted.

Strikes were carried out with Ukrainian-made long-range precision weapons, in particular the FP-5 “Flamingo” system.

According to the General Staff, several structures on the range sustained varying degrees of damage. One hangar was significantly damaged, and some personnel were evacuated from the site.
