Russian authorities in Belgorod reported a missile attack on the city overnight into Friday, leaving parts of the population without electricity and water after apparent damage to the local thermal power plant, Belgorod Oblast Gov. Vyacheslav Gladkov reported.

Gladkov stated that the strike caused “serious damage,” prompting an emergency meeting to address the consequences. Restoration work continued into the morning.

At 5:20 a.m., he reported that power supply had not yet been restored in Belgorod.

In addition to electricity outages, water supply was disrupted across the city.

"After the missile attack, the power supply to several water utility facilities in Belgorod was cut off. A number of water supply facilities in the Borisov district were also left without power," the local water utility reported.

Ukrainian OSINT channels and the Russian Telegram channel Astra reported that the Belgorod thermal power plant was hit.

Several days earlier, Belgorod had experienced widespread blackouts following attacks on its energy infrastructure. At that time, Gladkov also reported “serious damage to an infrastructure facility” after a missile strike in the region.
