Russian forces falsely claimed to have captured the village of Rizdvianka in Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia Oblast, located 20 km from the contact line, South Defense Forces spokesman Vladyslav Voloshyn told Interfax-Ukraine on Wednesday.

Voloshyn called the statement “complete nonsense, disinformation and a fake,” noting that Rizdvianka remains under Ukrainian control and is separated from the front by several settlements including Dobropillia, Ternuvate, Kosivtseve and Prydoroshnie.

Fighting continues east of Dobropillia and Russian forces have not approached any of these villages.

Ukrainian intelligence detected an attempted small Russian infiltration group trying to reach the Kosivtseve–Prydorozhnie–Rizdvianka area, but the group was destroyed.

"This is complete nonsense, misinformation, and fake news. [...] But Russian propaganda continues to spread fake news. A week ago, it told the same story about Kosivtseve, about Prydorozhnie, and now they are talking about Rizdvianka. In reality, Rizdvianka is under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces," Voloshyn added.

According to maps from the DeepState monitoring project, Rizdvianka is indeed located more than 20 kilometers from the line of contact.

The Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are conducting an active operation on the Oleksandrivka axis. Its goal is to thwart Russia's plans to advance in the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia oblasts.

Since the start of the operation, the Air Assault Forces, together with adjacent units, have regained control over eight settlements and a total area of more than 300 km² (cleared of Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups).

According to hromadske, the counteroffensive on the Oleksandrivka axis is being led by the commander of the Air Assault Forces, General Oleh Apostol. In addition to the assault regiments, the 82nd Bukovyna Separate Air Assault Brigade and the 95th Polissia Separate Air Assault Brigade are also involved in the assault operations.
