Russia launches 178 drones at Ukraine overnight

Russian forces launched 178 attack drones against Ukraine overnight into Tuesday, with air defenses downing or suppressing 154 of them, Ukraine’s Air Force Command reported.

Most of the drones were Shaheds (about 110), with others of various models. The UAVs were launched from Bryansk, Oryol, Kursk, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia and from occupied Hvardiyske and Chauda in Crimea.

Ukrainian defenses — including aviation, surface-to-air missile units, electronic warfare teams, unmanned systems and mobile fire groups — countered the assault.

As of 8 a.m., impacts from 22 strike drones were recorded at 12 locations, with debris falling at two additional sites.

The military warned that the air attack is ongoing, with several Russian drones still in Ukrainian airspace.
