Russia attacked Ukraine with 265 drones overnight into Monday. Ukrainian forces shot down or suppressed 228 of them, while damage was reported in several cities, including Odesa, Kharkiv, and Sumy, as reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to preliminary data as of 8 a.m., air defenses neutralized 228 drones in the north, south and east of the country.

27 strike drones hit targets at 18 locations, while debris from downed drones fell at 12 locations.

The Air Force warned that the attack was still ongoing and that Russian drones remained in Ukrainian airspace.

Damage from the overnight attacks

Among the cities attacked overnight were Kharkiv and Odesa.

In Odesa, two Russian overnight attacks damaged apartment buildings in different parts of the city, as well as an administrative building and infrastructure. Five people were injured.

In Kharkiv, two people were injured in the Russian attack, regional governor Oleg Synegubov said. A five-story residential building was damaged, along with nearby apartment blocks, cars, and garages.

Explosions were also heard in other parts of Kharkiv Oblast, including Bohodukhiv, where a 39-year-old woman suffered an acute stress reaction.

Sumy also came under attack overnight. Serhii Kryvosheienko, head of the city’s military administration, said Russian strikes damaged a preschool, where more than 20 windows were shattered. Four nearby residential buildings were also damaged, including about 60 windows and balcony frames.

In the morning, Russian forces also attacked Zaporizhzhia, damaging a private house. Regional governor Ivan Fedorov said a 73-year-old woman was injured.

At about 1:30 a.m., Russian forces shelled the Korabelnyi district of Kherson with artillery. Three residents were injured — a 57-year-old woman and men ages 31 and 61, the regional administration reported.

Explosions were also heard overnight in Chernihiv and in Poltava Oblast.
