Russia launches 198 drones at Ukraine, with hits recorded at seven locations
Russia launched 198 drones at Ukraine overnight into June 3, with Ukrainian air defenses downing or suppressing 189 of them, the Air Force reported, while impacts were recorded at seven locations.
The military said that as of 8 a.m., air defenses had neutralized 189 Russian drones, including Shahed, Gerbera and Italmas models, as well as drones of other types, over the north, south and east of the country.
The Air Force said eight strike drones hit targets at seven locations, while debris from downed drones fell at seven locations. It warned that the Russian attack was still ongoing.
Consequences of the overnight attack
In Kherson, Russian forces hit an apartment building with a drone on Tuesday evening, prosecutors said. An 86-year-old woman was killed. Three local residents were injured, and three others were diagnosed with carbon monoxide poisoning.
Civilian infrastructure in Odesa Oblast also came under Russian drone attack overnight, the regional administration said. A truck and an office building at a parking site were damaged. Two men, ages 20 and 36, were injured.
Russian drones also struck Mykolaiv Oblast overnight. Authorities said a 65-year-old man was injured in Mykolaiv, and as of the morning his condition remained serious.
In Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, 32 Russian drones were shot down overnight, and no casualties were reported.
In the Zaporizhzhia district, drones struck a gas station, causing a fire that had been extinguished by morning.
Kharkiv Oblast also came under attack on Tuesday evening. Prosecutors said a strike on the town of Lozova damaged a soccer field, locker rooms and a service building at a sports complex. Three men, ages 47, 49, and 50, were injured.
