Zelenskyy confirms hit on St. Petersburg oil terminal and other targets in Russia
Ukrainian drones struck the St. Petersburg Oil Terminal and other military-related targets in Russia overnight, including a base in Kronstadt and a weapons-related enterprise in Tambov Oblast, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed on X.
The St. Petersburg Oil Terminal, which was hit overnight, is about 1,100 kilometers, or roughly 680 miles, from Ukraine’s state border.
The Russian Telegram channel Astra had described the site as the largest oil transshipment complex in northwestern Russia. It has also been designated a strategically important enterprise for Russia’s security.
Zelenskyy said other overnight strikes also reached military targets at the Kronstadt base near St. Petersburg.
OSINT channels reported that a fire broke out at the naval base and that ships may have been burning.
“Another target was an enterprise in Tambov Oblast involved in the production of Russian weapons. The distance from the frontline is almost 600 kilometers,” Zelenskyy added.
Telegram channel Astra reported that drones in Tambov Oblast attacked the Progress plant, which produces equipment for aviation and missile control systems. The facility has previously come under attack by Ukrainian drones.
Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed it had “shot down” 354 Ukrainian drones overnight over 15 regions and occupied Crimea.
