SBU sea drone hits Russian ‘shadow fleet’ tanker near occupied Yalta (VIDEO)

A sea drone operated by Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) struck the Russian “shadow fleet” tanker Blue near occupied Yalta on Tuesday morning, the agency said.
According to the SBU, the tanker was attacked by a Sea Baby naval drone, which hit the stern of the vessel and caused significant damage.
The agency said Russian aircraft tried to engage the Ukrainian drone but failed.
The tanker Blue is under sanctions imposed by the European Union, Britain, Canada, Australia and Ukraine for helping transport Russian oil in circumvention of international sanctions. It belongs to the Suezmax class of large tankers used to carry substantial volumes of oil and petroleum products.
The SBU said attacks on vessels in Russia’s shadow fleet are part of its broader effort to reduce Russia’s economic potential, arguing that such tankers help Moscow bypass sanctions and earn billions of dollars from oil exports.
