Ukrainian Mamai drones struck the Russian “shadow fleet” tankers Louise 1 and Banda, both of which are under sanctions, Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) reported.

According to the SBU, Louise 1 has been involved in transporting Russian crude oil during the G7 and EU oil embargo. The vessel exported cargo from Russian ports in the Baltic and Black seas while switching off its automatic identification system. In 2026 alone, it transported nearly 3 million tons of Russian Urals crude.

The tanker Banda also transported Russian crude oil from the ports of Ust-Luga, Kerch, Novorossiysk and Nakhodka, according to the SBU.

The agency said that during the attack on the sea drones, Russian aircraft tried to stop them by firing machine guns and dropping bombs, but to no avail.
