Four emergency responders were injured in Zaporizhzhia Oblast on July 28 when Russian forces struck a State Emergency Service unit with a drone, Ukraine’s SES reported.

The incident happened in the Zaporizhzhia district while the unit was extinguishing a fire in an open area at one of the local forestry sites.

As a result of the strike, four rescuers were injured.

According to the service, the firefighters suffered concussions and light shrapnel wounds. They were given the medical assistance they needed.

“Russia continues to destroy civilian infrastructure and deliberately hunt State Emergency Service units, violating all norms of international humanitarian law,” the agency said.

Over the previous day, Russian forces attacked Zaporizhzhia Oblast with artillery, guided aerial bombs, and drones, regional authorities said. 14 people, including three children, were injured. Officials also received 161 reports of damage to infrastructure, housing, and vehicles.
