Ukrainian drone forces hit 10 more energy facilities in occupied areas over two days

From July 1 through July 29, Ukrainian drones hit a total of 164 energy targets in occupied areas.

According to his figures, drones struck the following on July 28-29:

• in Crimea — electrical substations in Kerch (Sklo, Kerchenska and Albatros), Feodosia (Feodosiyska), Yevpatoria (Moinaky) and the settlement of Maryanivka;
• in Kherson Oblast — electrical substations in Kayirka (Akvilon and Kayirka) and Pershokostiantynivka;
• in Luhansk Oblast — an electrical substation in the settlement of Zaporizke.

The units involved in the operation included the 414th Separate Brigade of the Unmanned Systems Forces, known as Magyar’s Birds, including the 9th Kairos Battalion, the 1st Separate Center of the Unmanned Systems Forces, and the 20th Separate Brigade K-2.

The operation, known as “Crimean Switch Off,” is aimed at systematically striking critical energy infrastructure and substations in occupied Ukrainian territories, especially in Crimea. It has been underway since July 1, 2026, under Magyar’s command.

Occupied Sevastopol has already experienced blackouts, including one on July 12. Amid electricity restrictions, occupation authorities urged residents to get updates from radio broadcasts and charge devices at designated points.

Sergey Aksyonov, the Russian-installed head of Crimea, said it is currently impossible to devise precise electricity supply schedules on the peninsula. Power disruptions have also affected tram service, and occupation officials have been using social media to inform residents about fuel availability for private vehicles.

In addition, occupation authorities in Crimea have begun installing fixed telephones for contacting emergency services during power outages.
