Russian attack destroys two Epicentr logistics centers, killing employee as tile production moves abroad
Russian forces struck two key Epicentr logistics complexes during the massive ballistic attack on Kyiv and the surrounding region on Wednesday, destroying major warehouses, killing one employee, and forcing the company to move tile production abroad, according to the company’s message on Facebook.
According to the company, one logistics center on Viskozna Street burned down completely. At the logistics and production complex in Kalynivka, one Epicentr employee was killed. Three others were injured and are being treated in hospital.
Direct missile hits also destroyed two large warehouse complexes, the company said. Another missile struck the production site of Epicentr Ceramic Corporation, and the blast destroyed all of the plant’s production kilns.
In response, Epicentr said it is halting production at Epicentr Ceramic Corporation and moving output to two company facilities abroad to prevent a product shortage. The company also said it would launch one production line in Ukraine.
“According to preliminary estimates, full restoration of the destroyed production will take at least a year and a half, and most likely around two years. That is why our top priority today is to urgently relocate production abroad in order to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the company and fulfillment of our obligations to partners and consumers,” the company said.
