Russia launches 163 drones at Ukraine overnight, injuring 17 in Odesa
Russian forces launched 163 drones at Ukraine overnight into Sept. 3, with strikes recorded at 15 locations across the country, according to Ukraine’s Air Force.
In Odesa, 17 people were injured, including three children.
The attack included Shahed-type strike drones, S8000 Banderol and Herbera drones, as well as Parodiya decoys. About half of the Shahed-type drones used in the attack were jet-powered, the Air Force said.
As of 8:30 a.m., Ukrainian air defenses had shot down or suppressed 135 drones. Strikes were recorded at 15 locations, while debris from intercepted drones fell at four more.
In Odesa, a Russian strike damaged a 21-story residential building, according to city authorities. Apartments from the 10th through the 17th floors and several vehicles were damaged.
Seventeen people were injured, including three children. Emergency crews are working at the scene.
In Kyiv Oblast, a man suffered shrapnel wounds in the Boryspil district and was hospitalized, regional authorities said. Warehouses, an administrative building, a store and several kiosks were also damaged.
Later in the morning, authorities reported that a woman in the Obukhiv district suffered an acute stress reaction following another Russian attack. A private house caught fire, and vehicles were damaged.
Russia also attacked Khmelnytskyi Oblast with strike drones overnight. A fire covering about 200 square meters broke out in warehouses at a business, according to regional authorities. The fire was contained, and no casualties were reported.
