Russian aerial bomb attack on Kramatorsk kills 2, injures 4

Russian forces struck residential areas of Kramatorsk in eastern Ukraine with four aerial bombs, killing two people and injuring four others, Ukraine's State Emergency Service said on Sept. 7.

Rescuers recovered one of the victims' bodies from the rubble of a nine-story apartment building.

Fires also broke out in two other nine-story residential buildings. Emergency workers rescued two people who were unable to leave their apartments because of heavy smoke.

The emergency service said rescuers repeatedly had to suspend their work and take shelter because of the threat of renewed Russian attacks.

Donetsk Oblast Governor Vadym Filashkin said Russian forces attacked settlements across the region 12 times over the past day. Authorities evacuated 849 people from frontline areas, including 120 children.
