Poland plans to send more Patriot missiles to Ukraine, Rzeczpospolita reports
Poland plans to provide Ukraine with several Patriot interceptor missiles as part of a new €50 million military aid package, Rzeczpospolita reported, citing government and military sources.
The exact number of missiles is classified. Gen. Ireneusz Nowak, operational commander of the Polish Armed Forces, confirmed that he supported transferring the declared number, describing it as a small quantity.
“No one is talking about mass donations,” Nowak said.
Poland’s Defense Ministry has confirmed that it is preparing another aid package for Ukraine but has declined to disclose its contents, saying the details are classified.
The transfer of Patriot missiles is being coordinated with NATO allies, including the United States, according to Rzeczpospolita.
Poland previously provided Ukraine with five PAC-3 MSE interceptor missiles several months ago. Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said at the time that destroying Russian ballistic missiles over Ukraine before they approach Poland’s borders was directly in Poland’s security interest.
