Russian drone strikes passenger train in Kharkiv Oblast, killing one and injuring seven

Ukrainian Railways reported the attack on Sept. 18, saying at least two of the injured passengers were in serious condition.

According to the railway operator, the two passengers sustained serious injuries after failing to move far enough away from the train during the evacuation.

Emergency workers and medics were dispatched to the scene.

Following the attack, Ukrainian Railways urged passengers to strictly follow train crews' instructions during evacuations. If no shelter is available nearby, passengers should move at least 200 meters (650 feet) away from trains and railway infrastructure, the company said.

Kharkiv Oblast Governor Oleh Syniehubov later confirmed that a 40-year-old man had been killed in the drone strike and said seven others had received medical assistance.
