Russian strikes hit two Ukrainian universities, kill woman in Kharkiv Oblast
Russian attacks across several Ukrainian regions on Monday killed a woman, critically injured her 13-year-old son and damaged two universities and two fuel stations, local authorities and emergency services reported.
In Kharkiv Oblast, a Russian strike destroyed a house in the village of Katerynivka, causing a fire. Rescuers recovered the body of a 45-year-old woman from the rubble, while her 13-year-old son was hospitalized in serious condition with severe burns.
In Zaporizhzhia, a Russian strike directly hit a building of Zaporizhzhia National University that is designated as a cultural heritage site. A fire broke out following the strike.
The city had already come under a large-scale Russian drone attack overnight, when two nine-story apartment buildings and a shopping mall were hit. Five people were injured.
Russia also struck Sumy State University with an aerial bomb. The blast damaged the facade, windows and doors of the university's main building as well as nearby buildings. No injuries were reported.
In Zhytomyr Oblast, Russian forces struck two fuel stations near the city of Zviahel. One attack hit a station on the M-06 highway, while another targeted a WOG station in the same area.
