Russian missiles destroy already disabled Naftogaz facility beyond repair
Russia struck a Naftogaz facility in Ukraine's Poltava region with at least five ballistic missiles overnight, critically damaging an installation that had already been knocked out by repeated Russian attacks since 2022 and making its restoration effectively impossible, the company said.
The missiles hit technological facilities that had been shut down and out of operation for an extended period, Naftogaz said.
The site has been attacked dozens of times with Russian missiles and drones since 2022, leaving its equipment out of service long before the latest strike.
The overnight attack caused further critical destruction that “effectively makes the restoration and operation of the facility impossible,” the company said.
Naftogaz did not identify the facility or report any new impact on its current operations.
