Russian strikes on Zaporizhzhia injure at least 30, hit railway facility
Russian strikes on Zaporizhzhia injured atleast 30 civilians and hit a Ukrainian Railways facility on Monday, regional authorities said.
Twenty men and 10 women were injured in the attacks, according to the Zaporizhzhia Oblast authorities. Three people injured in a strike on an infrastructure facility suffered serious injuries, although doctors said their lives were not in danger.
Ukrainian Railways CEO Oleksandr Pertsovskyi said one of the company's facilities was hit while it continued operating.
Three railway workers were seriously injured and more than 10 others sustained lighter injuries, he said. The figures were still being clarified.
Pertsovskyi said warning systems had not detected an aerial threat before the strike. He did not provide details about the weapon used.
A fire broke out at the impact site, where emergency crews were working.
