Russian guided bomb attack on Sumy kills two, injures six including children
Russian forces struck the northeastern Ukrainian city of Sumy with four guided aerial bombs on Sept. 29, killing two people and injuring six others, including three children, regional authorities said.
The two people killed were in their homes in a residential area when the attack occurred, Sumy Oblast Governor Oleh Hryhorov said.
One of the strikes also hit a school in the city. Children were in a shelter at the time of the attack, Hryhorov said.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said around 100 children and staff had been evacuated in time.
Six people sought medical assistance after the attack, including three children. Emergency crews were working at the affected sites, while authorities said the full extent of the damage was still being assessed.
