Russian guided bombs hit Kharkiv, killing 3 and injuring at least 29

Three people were killed and at least 29 others, including three children, were injured after Russian forces struck Kharkiv with guided aerial bombs on Oct. 5, according to Mayor Ihor Terekhov.

Russian forces hit the city's Slobidskyi district with at least three guided aerial bombs. Residential buildings were damaged and warehouses caught fire.

Rescue crews are searching the rubble of one of the damaged residential buildings, where people may still be trapped.

One of those injured was a street cleaner, Terekhov said.

Russian forces also attacked a gas station in Kharkiv's Kyivskyi district with a drone. Authorities did not report casualties from that strike separately.

The latest attack follows a week of sustained Russian strikes across Kharkiv Oblast. According to regional authorities, Russia attacked 55 settlements in the region over the past week, killing eight people and injuring 87, including three children.
