Trump claims US gave Ukraine Tomahawk missiles, accuses Kyiv of selling American weapons

US President Donald Trump claimed that Washington had supplied Ukraine with Tomahawk cruise missiles and accused Kyiv of selling American military aid on the open market, despite no confirmed reports that Ukraine has ever received the long-range weapons.
Speaking in an interview with Newsmax, Trump criticized former President Joe Biden's administration for providing Ukraine with what he described as enormous quantities of military equipment without requiring payment.
"They gave them massive amount of Patriots, Tomahawks, everything," Trump said, referring to American missile systems.
He also repeated his claim that Ukraine had received $350 billion in US assistance and questioned what had happened to the money and weapons.
"Where is all that money that we gave to Ukraine? Where is all that weaponry?" Trump asked, alleging that American-supplied weapons had been sold on the open market.
Trump provided no evidence to substantiate the allegations.
There have been no confirmed reports that the United States has transferred Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has sought the weapons, which can strike targets at long distances, but discussions about a possible transfer have not resulted in any publicly confirmed deliveries.
Trump also compared Zelenskyy to P. T. Barnum, the 19th-century American showman, repeating a characterization he has used previously.
The president's $350 billion figure is also disputed. US government figures have distinguished between funds allocated for Ukraine-related programs, assistance delivered directly to Ukraine, and spending within the United States to replenish American weapons stocks.
Trump's remarks come amid renewed tensions between Washington and Kyiv over Ukraine's military operations against Russian targets and the terms of continued American support.
