Russian drone strike hits warehouse of major Ukrainian pharmaceutical distributor

A Russian drone strike hit a warehouse belonging to BaDM, one of Ukraine's largest pharmaceutical distributors, in the western city of Rivne on October 19, Ukrainian business publication Ekonomichna Pravda reported, citing pharmaceutical industry sources.

No casualties were reported.

The facility covers approximately 2,370 square meters (25,500 square feet) and opened in 2012, according to the publication.

The extent of the damage and any impact on medicine deliveries have not yet been established.

The attack is the latest in a series of Russian strikes affecting Ukraine's pharmaceutical production and distribution infrastructure.

Another BaDM warehouse was struck on September 14. In December 2025, a Russian missile and drone attack completely destroyed the company's 43,000-square-meter distribution center.

Other pharmaceutical facilities have also been hit in recent weeks.

On October 4, a Russian attack destroyed a manufacturing plant operated by pharmaceutical company Kusum in Sumy. Three days later, the Borshchahivka Chemical-Pharmaceutical Plant in Kyiv was struck.

Russian attacks have also damaged warehouses operated by pharmaceutical distributors Venta LTD, Biokon and Optima-Pharm, as well as a major Universal Logistic medicine storage facility.

Following the repeated attacks on pharmaceutical infrastructure, some Ukrainians have reported difficulty finding particular medications in pharmacies, including drugs used to treat chronic conditions.

However, the scale of any nationwide shortages and the direct impact of the latest strike in Rivne on medicine supplies remain unclear.
