Lithuanian volunteers raise €1.3 million for interceptor drones for Ukraine and Lithuania

Lithuanian humanitarian organization Blue/Yellow has raised more than €1.3 million in an eight-week fundraising campaign to purchase interceptor drones and counter-drone equipment for Ukrainian forces and Lithuania's Riflemen's Union.

The organization announced that its Dronaton campaign raised a total of €1,301,494, with 80% of the funds allocated to Ukraine's Defense Forces and the remaining 20% to Lithuania's Riflemen's Union.

The money is being used to purchase interceptor drones and anti-drone systems, as well as to train operators.

According to Blue/Yellow, purchases are already underway, and some of the equipment has reached Ukrainian soldiers and Lithuanian riflemen.

The organization began deploying funds before the campaign ended as Russian aerial attacks against Ukraine intensified.

"Dronaton is our timely response to this threat, as well as a contribution to Lithuania's preparedness," Blue/Yellow head Laura Paukštė told Lithuanian outlet Delfi.

Founded in 2014, Blue/Yellow provides material, technological and medical assistance to Ukrainian military personnel and civilians. Over 12 years, the organization says it has delivered more than €116 million in support to Ukraine.
