Melania Trump says four Newsmax journalists will cover humanitarian mission in Russian-occupied Oleshky

U.S. First Lady Melania Trump announced that four journalists from American broadcaster Newsmax would accompany a humanitarian mission to Russian-occupied Oleshky in southern Ukraine.
"Four American journalists from Newsmax will be on the ground in Oleshky, embedded with Russian and Ukrainian humanitarian leaders," Melania Trump wrote on X.
She described the journalists as "neutral observers" who would independently document the operation.
Her announcement quoted a post by Kirill Dmitriev, a Russian presidential envoy, who said Russia welcomed Newsmax journalists to witness and report on the mission.
The operation follows a temporary ceasefire that began on October 27 to allow humanitarian aid deliveries and facilitate the evacuation of civilians from Oleshky, a town in Kherson Oblast that has been cut off from regular food supplies since May.
Ukraine's Human Rights Commissioner Dmytro Lubinets confirmed on October 29 that he and a Ukrainian delegation had departed toward Oleshky to carry out the mission. The first humanitarian shipment is scheduled for October 30.
The ceasefire, facilitated by Melania Trump, is due to remain in effect through November 1.
