Russia strikes Dnipro railway station for second day, injuring woman and triggering fire

Russian forces struck the railway station in the southeastern Ukrainian city of Dnipro on October 30, the second attack on the facility in two days, causing a fire and injuring a woman, regional authorities said.

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Governor Oleksandr Hanzha said the woman was being taken to a hospital.

Ukrainian Railways said it had ordered an evacuation of the station ahead of the attack. According to preliminary information, passengers and railway employees were unharmed.

The company set up areas in the station's underground spaces where people could shelter for extended periods. Despite security-related delays, railway workers said they would seek to ensure that all trains departed.

Passengers were urged to remain in shelters until the air raid alert ended. Those who did not need to travel on October 30 were offered full ticket refunds and the option to reschedule their journeys.

Russian forces also struck a critical infrastructure facility elsewhere in Dnipro, causing another fire. No casualties were initially reported at that site.

Following attacks on energy equipment in Dnipro and the surrounding district, emergency power outages were introduced on the orders of Ukraine's grid operator Ukrenergo, energy company DTEK said.
