Zelenskyy holds 90-minute call with Witkoff and Kushner as Ukraine prepares for trilateral talks with US and Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a 90-minute conversation with US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner on November 4 as Kyiv prepares for trilateral talks with Washington and Moscow aimed at ending Russia's war against Ukraine.
"The pace of negotiations needs to be as intensive as possible to end this war as soon as possible," Zelenskyy said, adding that Ukraine had presented its proposals to the US side and was ready to take the necessary steps.
The president also reported a meeting in Brussels involving Ukrainian and US officials, representatives of the EU, France, the UK, Germany, NATO, the World Bank and the international business community to discuss Ukraine's postwar reconstruction.
A separate meeting on security guarantees was scheduled for November 5 in Brussels.
Zelenskyy identified stronger air defenses, particularly additional interceptors for Patriot systems, as a priority. He also called for continued bilateral cooperation with the United States, including potential drone agreements, and stressed that security guarantees for Ukraine must be robust.
Witkoff previously said the trilateral talks were expected to take place in Abu Dhabi on November 10–11.
According to Russia's state news agency TASS, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky would remain Moscow's chief negotiator in the trilateral format.
