Budanov to lead Ukraine's delegation at Abu Dhabi talks, expects no breakthrough

Kyrylo Budanov, head of Ukraine's Presidential Office, will lead the Ukrainian delegation at talks with the United States and Russia in Abu Dhabi next week, CBS News reported on November 6.

CBS correspondent Aidan Stretch, reporting from Kyiv, said Budanov personally confirmed that he would head Ukraine's delegation at the upcoming negotiations.

Budanov said he did not expect a major step forward or a breakthrough during the next round.

"I will repeat once again: these negotoations are not the last. They are not the final ones. We will only discuss readiness to end the ongoing war," he said, according to the Ukrainian-language account of the interview published by hromadske.

Asked what the meeting might achieve, Budanov declined to predict an outcome.

"We'll see in a few days," he said.

U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff previously said the three-way talks were scheduled for November 10–11 in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov has said Vladimir Medinsky, an aide to Russian President Vladimir Putin, remains Russia's chief negotiator in the talks, according to Russian state news agency TASS.

The meeting will bring together representatives of Ukraine, the United States and Russia for another round of discussions on ending Russia's war against Ukraine.
