Drones hit fuel and energy complex in Russia's Astrakhan Oblast

Astrakhan Oblast came under drone attack in the early hours of March 17, with a fuel-energy complex taking a hit, according to Governor Igor Babushkin.

Debris from one downed drone reportedly sparked a fire. Russian emergency services contained the blaze, and one person was hospitalized.

While Babushkin blamed Ukrainian UAVs, Kyiv has not confirmed involvement.

Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed neutralizing 72 drones nationwide that night, with 36 downed over Kursk Oblast, 13 over Astrakhan, and others intercepted in Oryol, Volgograd, Tula, Bryansk, Rostov, Kalmykia Republic, and Krasnodar Krai.
