Three Ukrainians detained in Europe for planning sabotage on Russia’s orders
German and Swiss authorities arrested three Ukrainian nationals—Yevhen B., Danylo B., and Vladyslav T.—between May 9 and 13, suspecting them of planning arson and explosive attacks on freight transport for Russian state agents, Germany’s Federal Public Prosecutor General’s Office announced.
The arrests took place in Cologne, Konstanz, and Switzerland’s Thurgau canton, with the announcement delayed until May 14.
The suspects allegedly offered to carry out arson and explosions targeting German freight transport, communicating with individuals purportedly acting for Russian state entities.
Investigators claim the men planned to send parcels containing explosive or incendiary devices from Germany to Ukraine, designed to ignite during transit.
To study transport routes, Vladyslav T. sent two test parcels with GPS trackers from Cologne to Ukraine in late March 2025, according to the investigation.
Two suspects are in custody, while the third awaits transfer from Switzerland, and further inquiries are underway.
