Ukrainian cargo ship sinks near Bulgaria, crew safe

A Ukrainian-owned cargo ship sank in the Black Sea off Bulgaria's coast on Sunday after reporting a hull breach, but all 10 Ukrainian crew members were rescued unharmed, the Bulgarian outlet Maritime reported.
The EILEEN was bound for Ukraine from Türkiye and issued a distress call about 140 nautical miles east of Varna, stating it had a large hole and was taking on water.
The crew was picked up by the Turkish vessel MURAT ILHAN.
The exact causes of the accident are not yet known.
According to preliminary information, the EILEEN, owned by a Ukrainian company, was built more than 30 years ago.
