U.S. intelligence assesses Russian President Vladimir Putin is more committed than ever to continuing the war in Ukraine with no signs of compromise, NBC News reported, citing sources.

According to U.S. intelligence analysis provided to Congress members, Russia currently shows no signs of readiness for compromises on settling the Russo-Ukrainian war.

Now, as U.S. experts note, Putin is more entrenched in his positions on ending the war than ever before.

Despite heavy losses and economic difficulties in Russia itself, the Russian leader seeks to hold Ukrainian territories and expand his country's influence to justify the human and financial costs.

NBC News notes that the main sign of growing frustration from U.S. President Donald Trump was canceling a planned meeting with Putin in Budapest last week.

As the American leader noted, his conversations with Putin "are sometimes good," but ultimately "they go nowhere."
