Türkiye claims attack on Russian tanker in Black Sea, allegedly carrying oil to Georgia

Turkish maritime authorities reported an attack on the Russian tanker Midvolga 2 about 120 kilometers (75 miles) from the country's coast, the outlets Dunya and Hakimiyet said on Tuesday, citing Turkiye's Directorate General of Maritime Affairs.
The tanker was reportedly transporting sunflower oil from Russia to Georgia, with 13 crew members on board. No injuries were reported.
Despite the strike, the vessel's engines remained operational, and it is heading to the port of Sinop, the agencies said.
On November 29, Ukrainian Security Service maritime drones Sea Baby struck two sanctioned Russian oil tankers, KAIRO and VIRAT, belonging to Moscow's "shadow fleet" in the Black Sea, hromadske learned from an informed SBU source.
The joint operation involved the SBU's 13th Main Directorate of Military Counterintelligence and Ukraine's Navy.
The source said both tankers sustained critical damage and were effectively decommissioned after the hits.
