'Many lives depend on dialogue.' Zelenskyy says relationship with Trump improved after one meeting

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s relationship with President Donald Trump improved after a brief private meeting in the Vatican, following their clash at the White House in February 2025.
Zelenskyy made the remarks in an interview with American MAGA blogger Laura Loomer, who visited Ukraine. Trump later posted an excerpt of the conversation on Truth Social.
Loomer referred to the dispute between the two presidents during Zelenskyy’s White House visit on February 28, 2025, and said their relationship appeared to have improved somewhat since then.
Zelenskyy said one of the moments that changed things was a 15- to 20-minute meeting in the Vatican, where the two leaders met one-on-one without other leaders present.
“I was very glad to hear him, he listened to me, and I listened to him as well. Between us there was something like, ‘let’s not go back to this,’ but it was very good. Many lives depend on relationships and dialogue,” Zelenskyy said.
