Ukrainian detained in Poland over suspected Russia-linked sabotage in Romania

Polish police have detained a 25-year-old Ukrainian citizen suspected of involvement in a Russia-linked sabotage network connected to a fire at a Romanian defense facility, Polish broadcaster RMF FM reported on October 28.
The suspect, identified as Artem S., was arrested in an apartment in Warsaw's Ursus district by officers from Poland's Central Bureau of Police Investigation.
He is expected to be transferred to Romania under a European Arrest Warrant, according to RMF FM.
The man is suspected of being part of a three-person group linked to a fire at a facility belonging to Romania's state-owned defense company Romarm in Brașov in mid-September. The fire affected a hall covering approximately 1,000 square meters.
According to RMF FM, investigators believe the Ukrainian suspect was responsible for identifying and surveying the intended target and financing the operation.
Romanian intelligence findings reportedly link him to two Belarusian citizens who were detained in Germany.
The group is also suspected of considering attacks on facilities used to train Ukrainian military personnel, weapons manufacturers and other industrial sites.
The allegations have not been established in court, and the suspect's response to them was not reported.
