Cyberattack disrupts Belgian tax services, authorities report no evidence of data breach

Belgium's Federal Public Service Finance has temporarily shut down its online tax portal MyMinfin and several other digital services following a cyberattack, the agency announced on October 28.
The department said it was assessing the impact of the attack and had restricted access to affected services as a precaution while technical teams worked to secure its systems.
MyMinfin allows individuals and businesses to manage tax documents and access financial information. Other departmental applications remain available, although some may have limited functionality.
The disruption is also expected to affect tax filing deadlines. Authorities said taxpayers submitting declarations involving specific categories of income would be granted additional time, with revised deadlines to be announced.
"So far, there is no indication that a data breach has occurred or that data has been stolen," the department said, adding that the investigation was continuing.
The agency has not identified those responsible for the attack or announced when the affected services will be fully restored.
