Poland to send Ukraine two MiG-29 fighter jets and additional Patriot missiles - Rzeczpospolita

Poland plans to transfer two MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine as part of a new military aid package worth approximately €50 million, Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita reported on October 29.
"The decision has been made, and two MiG-29s will be transferred," Dariusz Łukowski, director of the Polish Defense Ministry's Strategy and Defense Planning Department, told the newspaper. He said the transfer would take place soon.
One of the aircraft has reached the end of its designated service life and may be used for spare parts, while the other remains operational, according to the report.
The package will also include 155 mm and 152 mm artillery ammunition, 20 mm ammunition for F-16 aircraft cannons, and missiles for Polish-made Piorun short-range air defense systems.
Poland's Defense Ministry confirmed that another aid package was being prepared but declined to disclose its full contents, citing security considerations.
Rzeczpospolita also reported that Poland plans to provide Ukraine with five additional PAC-3 MSE interceptor missiles for Patriot air defense systems through an international initiative coordinated by the United States and NATO. Poland previously supplied five such missiles earlier in 2026, the newspaper said.
Poland transferred 14 MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine in 2022 and 2023. The Polish military has been replacing its aging MiG-29 fleet with F-16s and South Korean FA-50 aircraft.
Warsaw has previously discussed exchanging military equipment for Ukrainian drone and missile technology, although Rzeczpospolita reported that the proposed technology transfer has yet to take place.
