Fire engulfs refinery in Russia’s Tuapse after overnight drone attack

Drones struck the Russian Black Sea port city of Tuapse in Krasnodar Krai overnight into Thursday, causing a fire at the local oil refinery and allegedly killing two children, regional governor Veniamin Kondratyev reported.

Kondratyev said debris damaged five private homes and one apartment building, with “numerous” fragments falling on industrial territory near the seaport.

Two children — aged 5 and 14 — were killed, and two adults were injured and are receiving medical care.

Telegram channel Astra, citing local residents’ footage, reported that the Tuapse oil refinery — part of a single production complex with Rosneft’s marine terminal for petroleum products, RN-Marine Terminal Tuapse LLC — was on fire.

Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed to have neutralized 207 Ukrainian drones over the Belgorod, Smolensk, Kursk, Bryansk and Oryol oblasts, Krasnodar Krai, occupied Crimea and the Black and Azov seas.
