Zelenskyy orders controlled arms export launch in November

Ukraine must launch a controlled weapons export program in November, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said during a government meeting on Tuesday, tasking Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal with full drone production goals by year's end.
Shmyhal must ensure full execution of drone production and supply tasks by year's end — FPV, interceptor drones and deep-strike drones, he added.
Zelenskyy also set a year-end goal: more than 50% of weapons used in defending our state must be Ukrainian-made.

After Russia's full-scale invasion began in 2022, Ukraine banned exports of military goods to prioritize arming its forces. However, last year discussions emerged about lifting the ban.
This summer, Zelenskyy said Ukrainian weaponry could be exported via production lines abroad. Agreements are in place with Denmark, negotiations ongoing with Norway and Germany, with U.S. interest in Ukrainian arms.
