Russian strike damages Odesa Oblast energy infrastructure

Russian forces struck energy infrastructure in Ukraine’s Odesa Oblast overnight into Tuesday, causing significant damage and a fire at one facility, regional governor Oleh Kiper reported.
Kiper said the attack hit an energy object in the southern part of the region, where a fire broke out.
Ukraine’s largest private energy company, DTEK, later confirmed one of its facilities was targeted.
"The damage is significant. Repairs will take a long time to restore the equipment to working order. We are currently working on site, clearing the debris. We will do everything possible to address the fallout from the attack as quickly as possible," the company said.
An administrative building was also damaged. No casualties have been reported so far.
The strike left parts of three territorial communities without power.
Critical infrastructure sites have been switched to generator backup. Restoration work and efforts to repair electricity supply are ongoing.
