NABU chief confirms Zelenskyy not under investigation in Kozyn luxury real estate case

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is not a subject of NABU's ongoing pre-trial investigation into elite construction near Kyiv, Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) Semen Kryvonos said at a briefing.
The clarification follows earlier reporting by Ukrainska Pravda investigative journalist Mykhailo Tkach, who claimed to have obtained transcripts from the "Midas" case and published excerpts of conversations allegedly involving businessman Tymur Mindich. In one of those conversations, Mindich is heard discussing the construction of homes — which journalists believe to be four mansions belonging to the "Dynastiya" cooperative in Kozyn, outside Kyiv.
Ukraiinska Pravda suggested that the four homes were being built for Zelenskyy, former Presidential Office chief Andriy Yermak, Mindich, and former Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Chernyshov. The published transcripts reference an individual referred to as "Vova," as well as "Maks Donets" — the name of President Zelenskyy's personal security chief.
NABU and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) have not officially confirmed that the materials are part of their case. However, some of the excerpts read aloud by the journalist corresponded with materials prosecutors cited during court hearings and in published video recordings.
Yermak, Mindich, and Chernyshov are all currently named in the anti-corruption investigation. However, a sitting Ukrainian president is not subject to NABU and SAPO jurisdiction under current law.
hromadske has reached out to the Office of the President for comment.
Editor's Note: Under Ukrainian law, a sitting president enjoys immunity from prosecution and falls outside the jurisdictional reach of NABU and SAPO. Zelenskyy has not been charged with any wrongdoing in connection with this case.
