Military aid from the Netherlands and additional payments to the military: highlights for April 12

The Netherlands has allocated more than €1 billion for military aid and reconstruction of Ukraine. The government has approved a UAH 70,000 supplement to the military at the frontline. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has found and sent to the frontline soldiers who did not participate in the fighting. We have collected the main news for April 12.

Assistance from the Netherlands

The Netherlands has allocated one billion euros for military aid to Ukraine and another 400 million euros for reconstruction. The country also announced that it has decided to allocate 3 billion euros for military support in 2025.

Additional payment to the military at the front

The Cabinet of Ministers has implemented a resolution of the Verkhovna Rada and increased the salaries of the military personnel performing combat missions on the front line by UAH 70,000.

Soldiers performing tasks on the front line will be able to receive this remuneration for every 30 days of performing such tasks.

Funds for electronic warfare, shelters, and defense lines

The Cabinet of Ministers will allocate funds for the purchase of electronic warfare systems to protect Ukrainian critical infrastructure.

The government has also amended the subvention from the state budget for the creation of safe conditions in secondary education institutions. This year, the regions will receive UAH 2.5 billion to build shelters in schools.

In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers has allocated an additional UAH 3.88 billion for the further construction of defense lines in the Kharkiv, Sumy, Donetsk, Kherson, and Mykolaiv regions.

General Staff finds thousands of soldiers who did not take part in combat operations

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has reviewed several units not participating in combat operations. They say that they managed to release “thousands” of soldiers. Some soldiers from these units were sent to the front.

In addition, the units that have been fighting at the front since the beginning of the full-scale invasion are now being rotated.

Czech Republic finds more than a million pieces of ammunition for Ukraine

As part of its own initiative to purchase ammunition for the Ukrainian army, the Czech Republic has already found more than a million rounds of ammunition.

Prague aims to provide Ukraine with as much ammunition as possible in the shortest possible time. At the same time, this is not the only initiative, as Estonia and the United Kingdom are developing similar plans, and France has also spoken about it.

International Energy Agency backs US on attacks on Russian refineries

The International Energy Agency (IEA) has backed the US position, saying that Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian refineries could undermine global oil markets.

According to the IEA report, about 500-600 thousand barrels per day of crude oil refining capacity in Russia may be unavailable this quarter before it can be replaced.
