Russian drone strikes on Kryvyi Rih shopping complex kill 5, injure at least 91 (UPDATED)
Russian drone strikes on a shopping complex in Kryvyi Rih killed five people and injured at least 91 others, including six children, Dnipropetrovsk regional authorities said on August 21.
According to regional governor Oleksandr Hanzha, Russian attack drones struck in two waves. A second strike hit the site about 30 minutes after the first impact and ensuing fire, when emergency services were already responding.
The first strike caused a fire inside the shopping complex, with stores burning as rescuers worked at the scene.
Earlier reports put the toll at two killed and 12 injured. Authorities said rescue operations were continuing and the wounded were receiving medical treatment.
The regional governor described the attack as a “terrorist attack” and called for greater international pressure on Russia.
